Fry the chicken in the oil with the salt. Set aside.
Reduce the heat to medium and fry the onion, with garlic and ginger, until soft. Add curry, cumin, turmeric, coriander, cayenne, garam masala and 1 tbsp of water. Let cook for a minute while stirring.
Add tomato, yogurt, half of the coriander leaves and salt to the mixture.
Return the chicken and add the water. Mix well and bring to a boil. Let cook covered for 10-15 minutes.
Serve with rice, naan and raita.
