Tomato Sauce

1 Onion chopped
1 clove Garlic crushed
1 tsp Salt

Fry onion and garlic with the oil until soft. Add the rest of the ingredients. Stir occasionally. Let cook for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens, add water if necessary (especially if you use fresh tomatoes).

Remove the bay leaf and mix the sauce until smooth.

A comment on this

We use this mostly for pizzas, but it is nice to use for other things as well, eg. for making a tomato sauce for meatballs or in a Bolognese.
