Many parts of the chicken can be used for food. The colour of the eggs depend on the chicken breed, as do to some extent, the size.
Chicken should never be eaten raw as it can contain bacteria that can cause food poisoning.
A male adult chicken is called a rooster, or a cock, while a young male is called a cockerel. If the male is castrated it would be called a capon. A hen is an adult female chicken while the young female is called a pullet.
