Put ribs in a large sauce pan and cover with water. Add 1 tsp salt per litre water. Add the garlic and onion. Bring to a boil and let simmer until the meat almost falls off the bones (2-3 hours).
Take up the ribs and let the water drip off before you add the glaze.
Mix all the ingredients for the glaze and brush on the ribs. Let them cool for a couple of hours or over night.
Heat the ribs in the oven with the grill function on until you are happy with how they look. Or put them on your grill and add extra glaze each time you turn them over.
